Established in 1963, Skokie Hospital offers patients access to a vast network of clinical resources. The full-service, acute care hospital is certified by the Joint Commission as a Primary Stroke Center and also is nationally recognized for its expertise in orthopaedics and cardiac care.
Skokie Hospital's new Ambulatory Care Center (ACC) provides accessible and expanded access to outpatient clinical services and to more physicians on campus. In addition, the ACC houses the NorthShore Orthopaedic Institute and Cardiovascular Institute. Skokie Hospital's Level II Trauma Center—Emergency Department—is staffed by an experienced team specially trained in pediatric life support.
Skokie Hospital recently completed a seven-year, multimillion dollar renovation and expansion ensuring the hospital continues to provide the community with exceptional medical care for years to come. A newly opened state-of-the-art surgical pavilion includes eight new operating rooms, a sterile processing center. A new gastroenterology lab and the Sharfstein Conference Center—billed as NorthShore’s largest auditorium—helps provide for expanded core clinical services and enhanced patient care. In 2017, the hospital finalized renovation with four additional operating rooms, as well as a new post-anesthesia care unit and ambulatory surgery unit.
