PGY1/2 Informatics Pharmacy Residency

NorthShore is an integrated health care system, located in the Northeast suburbs of Chicago, consisting of Evanston, Glenbrook, Highland Park, and Skokie hospitals, a 828 member Medical Group, a Home Services Division, and a Research Institute. With the full implementation of electronic medical record, NorthShore is recognized as one of the "Most Wired Hospitals" in the country. The Pharmacy Department provides clinical services through decentralized pharmacists in an integrated practice model. Distribution is through Pyxis and centralized IV preparation.

Residency Program Description

The Pharmacy Informatics Residency at NorthShore will prepare residents for a leadership role in medical informatics. The program is structured to offer a broad exposure to technology and informatics within the health system with an emphasis in clinical informatics. Residents will gain experience in systems evaluations, process re-design, project management, interdisciplinary teamwork, vendor relations, system testing and validations, change management, research, teaching, and leadership.

  • Complete a major project
  • Attend and lead contemporary topic seminars/discussions and journal clubs
