Perinatal Loss

The loss of a pregnancy or an infant can be devastating. With experience and knowledge about grief and perinatal loss, our team offers support and guidance to families as they begin the healing process.

NorthShore Evanston Hospital provides comprehensive care to families who experience the loss of a baby during pregnancy or shortly after birth. Our professional staff is trained in grief counseling and bereavement issues. Families are provided guidance and support as they move through the initial crisis. We offer pregnancy loss support services to families both on an inpatient and outpatient basis.

The Perinatal Comfort Care Program (PCCP) provides emotional, medical and spiritual care to individuals and families who have received an unexpected, life-limiting diagnosis of their unborn baby. The program gives support through the pregnancy and beyond by maximizing comfort and dignity for the entire family through a multidisciplinary team of caregivers.
