Rachel Markell is a certified Physician Assistant for the Division of Otolaryngology in the Department of Surgery. She evaluates and treats general ear, nose, and throat conditions. She performs procedures in the office including wax removal, flexible laryngoscopy, nasal cauterization, and nasal endoscopy. She works closely with the rest of the ENT team and audiologists to deliver personalized, high-quality patient care using evidence-based medicine.

Rachel joined NorthShore after graduating from Rush University. In her practice, she enjoys helping to improve the quality of life of her patients.

Katherine Mitchell is a certified Physician Assistant for the Division of Otolaryngology in the Department of Surgery. She specializes in conditions of the ears, nose, and throat. Procedures she performs in the office include wax removal, flexible laryngoscopy, nasal cauterization, and nasal endoscopy. She works closely with our team of audiologists to patients with hearing loss, tinnitus, and dizziness.

Kate joined NorthShore after graduating from Midwestern University. As a provider, she prioritizes high-quality clinical care and evidence-based medicine. Kate strives to treat every patient with respect and to treat every patient interaction as a chance to improve the patient’s day.

Andrea Parks is a certified Physician Assistant for the Division of Otolaryngology in the Department of Surgery. Her practice is focused on otology which is ear related pathology and conditions. She works closely with neurotologists, Dr. David Walker and Dr. Ted Imbery. In her role as an Otology Advanced Practitioner, she manages the care of patients with cochlear implants, Meniere’s Disease, hearing loss, chronic middle ear disease, otosclerosis, acoustic neuromas, dizziness, and tinnitus. Andrea coordinates care with a multi-disciplinary team including neurotologists, neurosurgeons, audiologists, neuropsychologists, advanced practitioners, and registered nurses. She is an integral part of NorthShore’s cochlear implant program and works closely with patients on preoperative education as well as postoperative care. She is passionate about the cochlear implant patient population and works tirelessly to insure approval for treatment.

Prior to joining the Division of Otolaryngology in 2013, Andrea was the Lead Physician Assistant for the Department of Neurosurgery at NorthShore. She cared for patients with cranial and spinal pathology in the critical care setting, as well as outpatient and inpatient needs at Evanston Hospital. Her eight years of neurological surgery experience helped transition to the care of acoustic neuroma patients in the otolaryngology setting. She is the recipient of multiple loyalty leadership awards and service values awards. In addition, she serves as preceptor to physician assistant students at multiple local universities.
