Surgical Simulation Program

GCSI’s Surgical Simulation Program is a leading edge surgical training and innovation program that provides an expert resource for surgeons to train in established minimally invasive methods, and to develop and test new techniques.

The field of minimally invasive surgery continues to expand exponentially with new techniques and advanced applications for the rapidly developing technology and there is a corresponding need for new ways of training surgeons.

The Surgical Simulation Program, led by NorthShore surgeon Michael Ujiki, MD, is at the leading edge of the rapidly expanding field of minimally invasive surgery.  The program is specially designed to meet the need for surgical training in advanced techniques and new technologies.  The program provides an expert resource for surgeons locally and from across the country to train in a lab complete with multiple simulation opportunities, which help physicians to become adept at these new and sophisticated procedures before they even enter the operating room.
