NorthShore University HealthSystem has used simulation to enhance the curriculum for anesthesia residents as well as CRNA students. Using a wide range of cases, students learn how to troubleshoot rare problems, increasing patient safety in the operating room.
The GCSI is one of three simulation labs in Illinois endorsed by the American Society of Anesthesiologists to provide a MOCA® (Maintenance of Certification in Anesthesiology) simulation course.During the simulation portion held at the GCSI, participants will have the opportunity to manage perioperative events in a safe environment and receive feedback with a debriefing session. Upon completing this simulation component, participants will obtain MOCA Part IV credit.
