Maintenance of Certification in Anesthesiology®

Under the direction of Luke Janik, MD, the GCSI is proud to offer a Maintenance of Certification in Anesthesiology® (MOCA®) simulation course endorsed by the American Society of Anesthesiologists. MOCA® is designed to assess and enrich participants’ knowledge while offering credit for Part IV of MOCA® (25 pts total).

During the MOCA® course, participants will work through a series of high-risk cases that allow them to manage anesthesiology emergencies and critical events. Each person will act as lead anesthesiologist in at least one scenario.  After each exercise, a debriefing takes place allowing the participants to review and improve their skills. They will receive feedback from the instructors and are encouraged to share clinical experiences with their peers.

The GCSI staff is committed to making MOCA® an engaging opportunity to enhance one's practice, increase patient safety, and network with fellow anesthesiologists. For additional information on the program, visit the ASA’s website, where you can also find links to related organizations.
