Dysthymia is a less severe form of depression, but one that is usually chronic. Though not disabling, the disorder instead robs sufferers of a feeling of well-being. The disorder often resembles its major depression counterpart except in the severity of the symptoms experienced. Treatments similar to that offered for major depression are offered.
