Division of Nephrology and Hypertension

Nephrology is the area of medicine that concentrates on the kidney.  It encompasses the diagnosis, management and prevention of kidney diseaseNephrologists, physicians trained in kidney disease, provide care for patients with a variety of kidney related issues.  

The Division of Nephrology and Hypertension at NorthShore University HealthSystem, in place for over thirty years, is staffed by board certified nephrologists who provide services for patients experiencing kidney disease and hypertension.  Some examples of these health problems include kidney stones, severe metabolic bone diseases, severe hypertension, kidney failure, and kidney disease related to hypertensiondiabetes, immunological diseases or other health issues.

Our range of patient care services includes a comprehensive Chronic Kidney Disease Clinic, outpatient hemodialysis and home dialysis.

As part of our division’s commitment to providing the highest quality, comprehensive nephrological care, our goals include the early detection and aggressive early management of kidney disease. This involves the careful management of associated health problems.  Our clinical staff of physicians, nurse practitioners, and dietician, takes great care to address the complexities of each patient’s individual kidney disease issues.
