The multispecialty team provides each patient with a personalized care plan to create the path for the most optimal outcome, including recommendations for advanced diagnostics, consideration of minimally invasive options and participation in promising clinical trials, as well as complete follow-up care.

Gestational trophoblastic disease is very easily treated once it is diagnosed.  Chemotherapy is the most common treatment used and patients will usually respond very well and be cured.  Many women are still able to conceive after they recover.  In rare cases a hysterectomy may be necessary.

NorthShore University HealthSystem’s team of gynecologic oncologists manages and oversees each patient’s care from diagnosis through treatment, including the surgical and chemotherapeutic aspects of care, as well as coordinating with other specialists as needed.
