The multispecialty team provides each patient with a personalized care plan to create the path for the most optimal outcome, including recommendations for advanced diagnostics, consideration of minimally invasive options and participation in promising clinical trials, as well as complete follow-up care.

With cervical cancer, if caught very early, the pre-cancerous or cancerous cells can be removed without affecting a woman’s ability to conceive a child.  However, if the disease has spread, additional cervical cancer treatments may be needed. Sometimes a hysterectomy is necessary, which can involve removing the ovaries as well. If cancer has spread to other parts of the body, radiation therapy or the administration of chemotherapy may be necessary.

NorthShore University HealthSystem’s (NorthShore) team of medical oncologists manages and oversees a patient’s care from diagnosis through treatment, coordinating with other specialists as needed. Depending on the patient's condition, our team of dedicated experts will come up with a personalized cervical cancer treatment plan for the disease.

NorthShore offers a full range of surgical options and expertise for patients diagnosed with cervical cancer. Led by nationally recognized surgeons, NorthShore offers a wide range of options including minimally invasive and robotic surgery for many patients.
