The supplier of yellow fever vaccine has notified our office of a nationwide shortage in the production of yellow fever vaccine. Any future yellow fever vaccine supplies will be strictly limited by the manufacturer.
Effective immediately, the OMEGA Travel Center will only administer yellow fever vaccine to patients traveling in areas that require yellow fever vaccination for entry into the country or for individuals who are at highest risk for infection. Patients traveling in areas where yellow fever vaccine is only recommended will not be vaccinated. Each patient will need to be evaluated by clinical personnel before a determination can be made as to whether you are eligible for a yellow fever vaccination.
In our efforts to provide quality customer service, we will continue to pursue additional outlets as well as volume dosages in our attempt to bolster our supplies. Please understand that persons eligible for yellow fever vaccine may be asked to return for an additional appointment depending on vaccine inventories and dosages.
Although the shortage is beyond our control, we are truly sorry for this hopefully temporary situation and any inconvenience it may cause.
