Just wondering if anyone has experienced shingles recently and how long there illness lasted.  I have now had for 10 days and not completly over yet.  Mine occured on my scalp and forehead.  Headaches are my big complaint.

I haven't had shingles myself but this is what I found on webmd,

Shingles blisters usually scab over in 7-10 days and disappear completely in two to four  weeks. In most healthy people, the blisters leave no scars, and the pain and itching go away after a few weeks or months. But people with weakened immune systems may develop shingles blisters that do not heal in a timely manner.

I assume you went to your doctor for treatment for them?

Although I had shingles 16 years ago and the blisters are gone, I frequently get extreme itching in the area where I had the attack -- my back and left side.  I understand that you can get shingles more than one time, yet the vaccine is not covered by my insurance and costs more than $200.  It doesn't make sense not to be protected -- the medical care and medicine costs insurance much more and the patient suffering can't begin to be measured -- so why not give the shot and prevent the problem?
