As a long time sufferer of chronic pain due to numerous fractured bones in my back, I wanted to share some of my experiences and learn what others have done to increase their quality of life amongst the difficulty of livign with chronic pain.

I would be interested to hear some of the things you have done. I have a compressed disc in my lower spine that causes some numbness, complete numbness in my whole lower body if I run, and pain at night when I try to sleep. I fall asleep best when on my back but I wake up about 3 hours later in really bad pain and have to curl up into the fetal position to get relief. I have yet to do anything about my back becasue I have concerns about the recovery time from surgery and its effectiveness. I have heard a little about Functional Disc Rehydration and was wondering if it was worth a shot but saw a few reviews on the therapy and it doesn't sound like it works all that great so I would love to hear what has worked and not worked for you.

I have two herniated discs in my lower back and when they get aggravated, causing severe pain, I can get some sleep at night by sleeping on an ice pack wrapped in a towel. Like anything it takes a little bit to get used to it, but really does help with the pain and sleeping. I'm also taking pain killers as needed, to provide some quality of life.
