My child actually asks to go see *Dr. Lippman. I think that says a lot about her comfort & want to speak with her.
This doctor started off the conversation by indicating this practice is not my child's PCP and I should really considering doing sick visits with my PCP's pedestrian office. She asked why I decided to come to this clinic, and when I said it was bc of availabilities, she said I should really talk to my PCP office about that. I am very diligent on f/u with kids annual visits with my PCP, but occasionally I do have to make an appt for last minute sick visits for my kids. Although I would LOVE to take my kids to my kids PCP, when the availabilities are not matched to my schedule, I thought visiting another pediatrician within Northshore is a better option than taking my child to an immediate care clinic, but I guess I was clearly wrong. The visit was for the very first available 8am appt on Monday, and my child started to develop a fever on Sat evening. I explained that fever was at 103-104 for a half of the day on Sun and the fever never came below 99-100 all day. I explained I took my child to a local pharmacy to test for covid, but the result will not come for another 2 days. Then she asked If I'm here to repeat a covid test to find out the result. So then, I had to explain, a child that has been spiking a fever up to 104 for a half a day is concerning, and I need to rule out other possibilities. Covid is not the only respiratory illness that's going around in the month of December. I explained maybe it's flu, strep, I don't know. So that's why I am here. Why did I have to explain why I showed up with my child at the md office after explaining symptoms my child presented, I don't know. Why did I have to tell her to rule out other viral/ bacterial illnesses during sick visits, I don't know. Is covid the only illness pediatrician check these days? Then after physical assessment, it turns out she spotted some blisters in his throat and diagnosed him with possible hand foot mouth disease. And she told me to read the care instruction on the paper, keep him well hydrated and say her good bye. What an unpleasant experience.
Dr. Lippman is the best!
We are thrilled with Dr Lippmans approach and care. She is a thorough and empathic doctor.
dr lippman is a gem
my son's toenail was at a 90 degree angle. e call center said the doctor should be able to do something about it. I was trying to go to ICC instead and the call center lady said I wouldn't need it cuz the doctor can take care of it. she forgot to put the notes on the appt so someone from the office called me and asked me why I was coming in. not once did she say that the office couldn't do anything about that! we came in and they tried soaking it and my son was in pain. it was very sensitive to touch. dr Lippmann was not gentle with her touch. she rewrapped it and sent us to ICC and told us then they had no capabilities to give him a block and that I should go to ICC instead! I better not get charged for this visit!!!
My daughter felt comfortable and at ease. Dr. Lippman directs questions to my child and listens to what she has to say, which we like.
Dr. Lippman is the BEST!
