Dr. Rajeev Garapati, MD, is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in treating broken bones and other traumatic musculoskeletal injuries, including fractures that haven’t healed properly. In addition, he provides care for foot and ankle conditions.
Dr. Garapati offers patients advanced treatment options, including minimally invasive fracture fixation, ankle arthroscopy and the use of biologic and molecular therapies to enhance bone healing.
Dr. Garapati emphasizes involving patients in their care by educating them about their condition and treatment options. His goal is to restore them to the level of function and activity they had before developing their medical problem.
Dr. Garapati comes from a family of physicians, including his father, an anesthesiologist, and aunts and uncles. Seeing the satisfaction they took from working with patients and making them better led Dr. Garapati to follow them into medicine.
He is the orthopaedic trauma director at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville and Advocate Illinois Masonic Hospital in Chicago. Dr. Garapati also is an assistant clinical professor of orthopaedic surgery at the University of Illinois College of Medicine.
He is an avid runner, which gives him an added appreciation of the importance of healthy feet and ankles and helps fuel his determination to improve his patients’ conditions.

Dr Geripati was caring, compassionate and listened. He was reassuring and patient.
Dr Garapati listens and responds to each question.
I all ready refer my wife.
Dr. Garapati is a good surgeon but his bedside manner is poor - he seems to lack any sort of emotion or ability to empathize and is short, cold and factual. I personally respond better to Dr.s who show compassion. Luckily, his nurse Leslie is a good partner for him as she supplies the warmth that he lacks. (This is the second time I've had surgery with him, and found him even cooler and less concerned, detached than the first go around.) Good surgeon but I feel offended by his lack of affectation and personalization.) Compared with other orthopedic drs. In this practice such as Dr. Koh, I find Dr. G's style very, very frustrating and insulting. He sees me as a surgery, a set of xrays not a person - perhaps he doesn't like me...
Dr snd resident extremely helpful and though
Second time dr Garapati has fixed me. He's great!
Only if they need an orthopedic doctor
Dr. seem very competent and I felt very confident
I truly don't know what I would do without him.
