Dr Shu has been my primary doctor many years and I trust her ability and judgment.

I am sorry to say that I was most disappointed with the care and compassion that Dr. Shu showed towards my mother. My mother is [age] and has severe dementia. I had explained all of this to the scheduling team when I made my appointment and also sent a note on the portal. I also told them my mother was looking for a new primary care doctor because her doctor retired last December.From the moment Dr. Shu walked into the exam room, to the time she left, I felt she had absolutely no interest in treating my mother. I also am pretty sure she did not read any of the information I had sent prior to the visit. One of the first things she said to my mother was something along the lines ... Why are you coming here, you are in a wheelchair, wouldn't you be better seeing an at home doctor. This is not an exact quote but pretty close. The exam went downhill from there. At one point Dr Shu asked: who my mother's primary care doctor was. This made it perfectly clear that no one in the office had communicated with her and that she had not read any of the notes or material I had sentThrough most of the discussion, Dr. Shu never looked at my mother - she just kept typing on the computer. At one point my wife asked her, are you listening to her - meaning my mom. She responded that she was and went right on typing. The only real exam Dr. Shu did was listen to my mom's heart and commented that she had a strong heart and was very healthy. When I read the notes from the appointment, Dr Shu filled in results (under physical exam) for: Eyes, Ears, Nose, Mouth, Throat, Lungs, Gastro, Musculoskeletal, Skin, and Lymph Nodes - But she never looked or checked any of these items/systems. As I said above, all she did was listen to her heart.I fully understood this appointment was not to be an annual exam and was only to be a New Patient Visit; however, I did expect Dr. Shu to learn a little about my mother's condition and physical health before she made up her mind about my mom, as a patient. The way we were treated clearly indicated that Dr. Shu had made up her mind, before meeting my mother, that she did not want her as a patient. This, to me, is totally unacceptable. Even if Dr. Shu did not feel like she was the right physician for my mother, she clearly should have treated her with dignity and compassion for her condition.I also want to point out that I understand doctors can run late. What is unacceptable, and something I do not understand, is how an office can be run where a patient has to wait an hour before anyone says anything to you and then you have to wait another 30 minutes before you are called (and anyone says anything). When Dr, Shu entered the office, she never mentioned the fact that she was running 90 minutes late.

Dr L.S. Is the best. She really cares listens explains had an engagement conversation with input at the end in a positive manner. She is always on point. I am glad to have her for life as my PCP Dr.
