*Dr. Machnica is phenomenal. No concern is too small, conservative approach without minimizing a single concern. Explains everything well & clearly.
Dr. M knows that no matter advice she gives I will decide what my track will be
I don't believe she fully read my chart before seeing me. She only seemed concerned about one condition. She told me I was in menopause even though my north shore gynecologist told me 4 weeks earlier that I am not. She wrote me a prescription for medication to treat a microadenoma on my pituitary gland but offered no help for hashimotos I was diagnosed with. I did research and talked to people who also have hashimotos and was told by them to ask my dr about diet and nutrition. The dr told me flat out that hashimotos cannot be managed with diet and nutrition. This is counter to my research and info from others whose own drs have given nutritional recommendations. I do not like pharmaceuticals, but will take them if they help. However I do not think this dr offered me any true help. I tried to explain my other concerns and symptoms, but felt she did not listen. She simply wrote an rx for cabergoline for one condition and did nothing else of value. I felt she did not familiarize herself with my records and was not overly knowledgeable of all of my conditions. I would like north shore to help me find an experienced and well rated endocrinologist with knowledge of my health, my conditions and useful information to help me that would include nutrition, supplements, or if necessary, medications to help with the painful inflammation I suffer from as is visible on the radiological exams (X-rays) I had as well as other disruptive symptoms I'm experiencing. I was disappointed in her knowledge, preparation, and her overall care.
This was a wonderful experience.
I have a wonderful doctor
I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes and told to "call Adult Endocrinology." I did that and had several appointments with several different people before someone notified me that I was part of a "clinic." I see and talk to someone different every single time I have an appointment which definitely gives the feeling that one is being "passed around." I don't think this system makes any sense for someone who has a serious but temporary condition that will (hopefully) be over in a few months and requires a lot of monitoring. Here we are a month later and my blood sugar is still not under control. The dietician I was assigned to went on vacation, so I have no idea who is looking at the information I was told I had to submit. They also tried to have me wait 4 weeks between appointments which is ridiculous for someone with this condition and also someone who does not have the condition under control. If I had a choice, I would go elsewhere for my healthcare.
She was very nice and explained things well.
Dr. Machnica is great. It's always obvious that she has looked carefully at my file before our appts and I never feel at all rushed. Her explanations are very clear and I have great confidence in her.
Dr. Machnica is always very thorough and gives me a clear understanding of my treatment plan going forward. She is also very warm and personable as well.
