I was asked to undress by nurse for an examination. The doctor did not do any type of examination, only asked a few questions. During the questioning, I felt rushed and the doctor said a few troubling statements like "I'm trying to make sense of what you think happened and actually happened" and "not everything is related to PCOS but I'll refer an ultrasound if that's what you want" and "I'm not convinced what you're saying Is true". When I mentioned that I have tried changing my diet and noticed I was sensitive to gluten and thought It was related to PCOS (as we are told not to eat high carb foods and those tend to have gluten), she even laughed and said "not everything Is your pcos". I am not a doctor, I did not know that but would appreciate patience and Information over feeling embarrassed to have had wrong Information (or was It even wrong?) The Information I had given the doctor about my symptoms was about imaging I got 5 months ago regarding cramping in which another doctor was concerned about an enlarged ovary he saw, many cysts forming and possibility of endometriosis. He told me to follow up if cramping persisted and it is more severe now, but I unfortunately could not see him again. I felt unheard, gaslit and humiliated as I was sitting there without clothes on listening to her say "there is nothing to do besides take birth control and watch what you eat" regarding my PCOS symptoms. Other Specialists have taken the time to examine me and recommend supplements to manage the symptoms I am having, as well as do blood tests to check up on my hormone levels and see if there is something abnormal (I've had abnormal results before and my birth control was changed). The previous doctor recommended some supplements for this same cramping but it hasn't stopped, so I wanted to have a second opinion as It Is starting to feel unbearable. At the end of the appointment, it was suggested I might have an std, even though the only symptom that was discussed was severe cramping in my right side, which is the same side my previous doctor saw an enlarged ovary. I was confused on why this would be suggested and she had trouble believing I could know if the pain was related to PCOS' or not without any examination. She never even asked to see exactly where I was having the pain. Had she checked my file she would also see I had already done std testing to rule that out.
Dr George is great!
