The doctor was as good as it gets. She is wonderful.
she is excellent clinician, caring, knowledgeable, respectful and very attentive
This visit was my first experience with a physician in the NorthShore system. The provider refused to order the same lab tests I've completed year over year (with my original physicians) for an existing diagnosis, citing no value in the data and "unnecessary health care cost". Then, I see the amounts $$$ in claims submitted by NorthShore to my insurance carrier for one general check up visit and find it laughable that "overall healthcare cost" is even a concern. My request was for a few more blood tests. I found it appalling that a physician would directly say that to a patient who is asking for health care. Among other things, this provider opined that I "listen to my body too much" and that I would benefit from therapy to help "turn that off". I felt my health concerns were dismissed by Dr. Oberoi. A week after my NorthShore visit, I scheduled a visit with my other doctor to receive thoughtful patient care. It is not likely that I will rely on the NorthShore health system for any type of health care in the near future, nor would I recommend its services to others.
I felt like Dr. Oberoi did not want to talk to me about concerns about my weight. Instead of encouraging me to make healthy food choices, she told me I could not lose weight if I "ate out". She did not ask me what I was eating if I do cook at home, or what I would order at restaurants. She also told me that I should not be a vegetarian anymore. She did not take into consideration my religious beliefs or ask about dietary restrictions before telling me this. She told me that I should be counting calories even after I told her that I have a history of binge eating disorder and laxative abuse and was advised by a dietitian to not use restrictive eating methods. I became frustrated and emotional during my visit and I don't really feel comfortable going back to her. She offered me a Kleenex.
Dr. Oberoi and I discussed new updates with my family and colon cancer and we came up with a plan for my future colonoscopy frequencies.
Dr. Oberoi is wonderful!
The physician seemed very ill informed. She did not know about basic preventive services covered/recommended by the USPSTF; I was left to educate her about what my former NorthShore PCP had done. It was miserable experience, I shouldn't have to educate a Dr during a visit. On post discharge paperwork it claimed certain things were done that did not happen (ie depression screen). She did not even ask basic stuff like if I had a healthy diet and/or exercised. I gathered she really didn't care about me as a person.
Very attentive to my needs always.
Dr. Oberio is a very compassionate and caring physician she is the best!
Doctor Deepika Oberoi is highly recommendable she is an exceptional doctor that knows her professional field very well and is a great individual
