This is the first Dr. that seemed to find a solution to this multi-year problem and it seems to be working without changing what other Doctors were doing (adding MORE MGs to existing RXs.) but suggested that they monitor the effects of his low MG solution which is helping keep the BP lower.
This was my first time meeting with the doctor, Dr. Massel. It was a much better experience than I have had with other NorthShore doctors. He was friendly, showed concern (good bedside manner), seemed very competent, and was prompt at responding to my message through North Shore Connect. I was so impressed that I switched PCP doctors and made him my new PCP. I was unhappy with my previous PCP but hadn't met another doctor I felt comfortable switching to until meeting with Dr. Massel.
I was impressed by his attention to detail!
Poor bedside manner, never knocked when entering room, didn't shake my hand. Asked questions about my health that should be very easy to find in your system. Argued with me about previous diagnosis. I have been using North Shore for 15+ years, never been treated like this by a physician.
I have recommended D. Massel to a friend. He is now their primary physician.
I was happy to see an internist on last minute notice for an acute earache and extremely sore throat vs. just walking into "immediate care" Making the appointment the night before assured me I would be seen in a timely manner by another internal medicine doctor there.
very helpful, smart and assuring me that I'm healthy! but felt uncertain about certain conditions
