When attending this session with Dr. Herman the visit seemed to be performed in a rush. When examining my mouth I barely had opened my mouth before Dr. Herman removed the device from in front of my mouth. I was also asked if I would like her to give me medication, although I made no mention of needing medication. Dr. Herman also seemed to have an attitude and asked me what I thought the problem was after providing her with what my symptoms were. I received no feedback after telling her I believed that it was a hormonal issue. No comment was made of what I told her either within her notes. Within her notes from the appointment that day she wrote that I had no symptoms of nausea or vomiting although I had communicated that to her in the beginning. She had also written that I, the patient, was here for those very reasons but contradicted herself in the notes that followed that paragraph. Dr. Herman prescribed me omeprazole although the symptoms I described had nothing to do with the medication (I made no mention of experiencing acid reflux or heartburn). She also did not inform me of what exactly the medication was, the correct amount to take, or why she was prescribing that specific medication. She left in a rush after telling me to call the number on the appointment summary packet to have my blood work done and schedule a gastroenterology appointment. The feedback from my blood work was informally done through the messaging service on NorthShoreConnect and no real comments were made on the tests that were marked with exclamation points. I waited a month to have this appointment and have been experiencing nausea, vomiting, a loss of appetite, extreme fatigue, and stomach pain for two months. My time has been wasted and I now have to schedule a follow up appointment with another doctor for a second opinion.
Not very talkative
Dr. Herman is invariably attentive, concerned, proactive in prescribing medications, tests, and recommending specialists as Indicated. She has a subtle, terrific way of engaging my compliance. She is very thorough, likable, and candid. I've been fortunate to have chosen great primary care physicians throughout my life. Dr. Herman is certainly my most recent Internal Medicine expert. Her staff is responsive and efficient. I am very comfortable with my primary care team.
I would recommend Dr Amy Herman
The Dr. Did an excellent job and I would like to switch to her as my primary physician. You survey should be amend to indicate a does not apply option.
Very responsive and explained details to make informed decision, but respectful the decision was mine
Ami. Herman was an excellent substitute for my doctor who was on vacation
Because of Dr. Amy's care, my over-all health condition improved.
She told me she can't help me at first. I have proof! Ask me for if you want to know. She was something else. She got mad at me because I politely refused to get weighed and she believed the lies her nurse told her! I will never go to her again! I felt hated by her and she showed it!! She has a horrible bed-side manner! The worst!
