Research

A robust research program is at the heart of the John and Carol Walter Center for Urological Health. As an academic hospital system our physician investigators initiate and participate in clinical trials designed to improve and personalize the care of our patients. Capitalizing on our strengths in electronic medical data capture and analysis, genetics, molecular diagnostics and bioinformatics, our scientists are also involved in translational research projects that focus scientific inquiry on linking clinical and genetic information with the goal of improved care through individualized diagnosis and treatment plans.

The experience and expertise of our clinical research program is vital to testing new therapies and anlyzing patient-reported outcomes. Hypothesis driven scientific research conducted in a laboratory setting is essential for discovery and subsequent clinical trials, ultimately translating medical science from "the bench to the bedside."
