NorthShore University HealthSystem is pleased to provide a variety of immediate care options to meet your healthcare needs, including same-day appointments, walk-in visits, immediate care sites, orthopaedic and sports medicine clinics and emergency rooms. At NorthShore, you have access to not just immediate care, but expert care.
Same-day Appointments
At NorthShore Medical Group, we understand that the relationships you have with your doctors are important, and so we try to keep same-day appointments available. For NorthShoreConnect members, please log into your account and check availability for your physician. For new patients, you can search for a nearby physician.
Walk-in Locations
In addition to same-day appointments, we offer walk-ins throughout the north shore. Most of our primary care offices accept walk-ins during all office hours. For existing patients, even if your physician isn't available, you can see another physician at the practice. And for new patients, you can see a board ceritified physician that is conveniently located to you.
Immediate Care Sites
NorthShore immediate care sites are dedicated to providing great care when you need it without going to the emergency room. We are staffed with board certified physicians who are prepared to see both adult and pediatric patients every day. Lab and imaging services are also on-site to easily serve your diagnostic needs.

Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Walk-in Clinics
NorthShore Orthoapedic and Sports Medicine physicians know your injuries, symptoms and conditions can require immediate care, which is why we offer convenient, same-day visits for all of your orthopaedic concerns. Ligament and tendon injuries, muscle tears, fractures—we cover every orthopaedic issue. The clinics have on-site radiology and laboratory services, and are staffed by board-certified and fellowship-trained physicians. No appointment is necessary.
Emergency Departments
Our emergency rooms are staffed with specialists board-certified in emergency medicine. Each location is equipped with a cardiac catheter lab to provide emergent cardiac intervention. Additionally, each of our emergency rooms offers a minimum of 4 Fast Track settings for minor injuries.
Evanston Hospital is a Level I Trauma Center, and Glenbrook Hospital, Highland Park Hospital, and Skokie Hospital are Level II Trauma Centers.
