Personal Interests
Dr. Erin McElvania joined NorthShore University HealthSystem in Evanston, Illinois as their Director of Clinical Microbiology in 2017. In 2021, she became Director of Infectious Disease Research where she partners with commercial sponsors to evaluate new instruments and assays for infectious disease testing. Dr. McElvania is the Associate Program Director for the Pathology Residency and Medical Microbiology Fellowship programs. She is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pathology at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. Her interests include rapid pathogen identification, rapid antimicrobial resistance detection, and laboratory automation.
