What I hope to do with each patient is to listen: listen to his words, listen to what his body is saying through symptom, and listen to his spirit - what comes through beyond the words and symptoms. Then I use all my knowledge, expertise and experience to solve the patient's problem. I apply to each patient a plan unique to his or her situation. Finally, I want the patient to understand his problem, the plan and his role in that plan. Relief of suffering, creative problem-solving and patient education are what I hope to provide.
My deepest interest is a continual quiet exploration of the presence of God in our lives and how to best live that out. I have a brother who is disabled, and I try to learn from him the ability to be truly present to others, as he is unabashed in his affection toward those around him. I love art, nature, sports, music, the past-time of philosophizing and wondering on life, solving the world's problems, laughing and singing as much as possible. Having written one book and several articles, I would like to write more and include poetry. I have often felt the urge to get more involded in government and politics.

3. Mixed & have _____. 6. PT &... 11. *Dr. Hurley & NorthShore is par for us but I would _____ the _____.
Dr. Hurley is excellent and spends much time explaining everything
was told by doctor that a nurse would call to setup my injection and would discuss the new perscription i was given. waited 2 days, nobody called. i noticed on my mychart a phone number to call to setup appt for injection, so i called and was placed on hold 64mins to find out the system wasnt working and they would have to call me back the next day. got a call back at 4 the next day while i was working and unable to answer. called back in the a.m. was on hold for 25 mins just to find out i cannot get in for 2 months. my pharmacy filled my perscription that is no refills and is only good for 10 days and because i did not get a call back from the nurse like i was told, i do not know how to get another perscription from him. or how to let them know it is working. i live an hout and a half from this hospital, so i can't just show up.very frustrating.
Dr. Hurley's manner transfered well via the medium. I felt I had a high quality appointment with him.
A rare doctor that listens & answers every question no matter how long it takes.
We didn't discuss the procedure I am going to have in detail because I didn't ask. I know there is only few things to do at this point in my pain loose weight would help, PT. and continue the exercises at home, prescription medicine, and this procedure. The ones that I am responsible for I stay committed for a while but they fall away.. Getting off of the medicine is priority to me especially when I feel it is no longer working.
Overall very good
Dr. Hurley was exceptionally friendly and informative. I have great confidence in him. He showed me images of my spinal condition which explained my difficulty and the probable time-line for recurrence. .
Dr. Hurley was quick to pick up on my educational experience and background knowledge and keyed his discussions accordingly. He was thorough, professional, compassionate in understanding my pain issues resulting from my condition as a result of trauma, surgery, age and health condition as well as my desire to return to greater physical activity than present, but that explained that there is a great probability that I would not have the same capabilities as prior to the current situation. I consider this as a reality. I appreciate his candor, his truthfulness and appropriate humor.
*Dr. Hurley is outstanding in all regards.
