What I hope to do with each patient is to listen: listen to his words, listen to what his body is saying through symptom, and listen to his spirit - what comes through beyond the words and symptoms. Then I use all my knowledge, expertise and experience to solve the patient's problem. I apply to each patient a plan unique to his or her situation. Finally, I want the patient to understand his problem, the plan and his role in that plan. Relief of suffering, creative problem-solving and patient education are what I hope to provide.
My deepest interest is a continual quiet exploration of the presence of God in our lives and how to best live that out. I have a brother who is disabled, and I try to learn from him the ability to be truly present to others, as he is unabashed in his affection toward those around him. I love art, nature, sports, music, the past-time of philosophizing and wondering on life, solving the world's problems, laughing and singing as much as possible. Having written one book and several articles, I would like to write more and include poetry. I have often felt the urge to get more involded in government and politics.

*Dr. Hurley takes time with patients and includes you in your care plan. He is by far one of the best doctors at Northshore.
Dr. Hurley was very patient and helpful
Dr. Hurley was amazing. I explain everything to me so I could understand what is going on. He listened to me fully. He researched and showed me why I am feeling so much pain. I have gone to many doctors and He has finally got the information I need to hear and understand. I am hopefully in his plan of attack to help me be comfortable. surpassed my expectations.
Dr. Hurley did a good job of explaining my medical condition in ways that were easily understandable.
Dr. Hurley did a very good job of dispelling my anxieties about my condition (there were "serious" findings). He quickly sized up my condition and made clear recommendations as to care and maintenance. His explanations were clear and engaging. Dr. Hurley created good rapport, and I look forward to continuing work at the clinic.
Dr. Hurley is kind, thorough, down to earth, smart, clean, helpful

Dr. Hurley is excellent and spends much time explaining everything
was told by doctor that a nurse would call to setup my injection and would discuss the new perscription i was given. waited 2 days, nobody called. i noticed on my mychart a phone number to call to setup appt for injection, so i called and was placed on hold 64mins to find out the system wasnt working and they would have to call me back the next day. got a call back at 4 the next day while i was working and unable to answer. called back in the a.m. was on hold for 25 mins just to find out i cannot get in for 2 months. my pharmacy filled my perscription that is no refills and is only good for 10 days and because i did not get a call back from the nurse like i was told, i do not know how to get another perscription from him. or how to let them know it is working. i live an hout and a half from this hospital, so i can't just show up.very frustrating.
