Uterine Cancer Symptoms & Diagnosis

An uterine (endometrial) cancer screening, which involves an ultrasound and/or an endometrial biopsy to check for abnormal cell growth within the uterus, may be recommended for women who are experiencing abnormal uterine bleeding. The biopsy is performed through a minimally invasive procedure called a hysteroscopy, which also allows your physician to view the lining of your uterus through a small scope.

If you are pre-menopausal and are experiencing the following uterine cancer symptoms, you should be seen by a physician for an endometrial cancer screening.

  • Increasingly heavy bleeding
  • Irregular bleeding
  • Unscheduled bleeding

If you are post-menopausal, any bleeding that you experience may be a symptom of uterine (endometrial) cancer and should be evaluated by your physician.
