These awards are designed to recognize the extraordinary efforts and behaviors of any employee who exceeds NorthShore University HealthSystem's (NorthShore) Service Values expectations or who contribute to an exceptional care experience that supports NorthShore's mission. Any NorthShore employee is eligible for this non-monetary award as a result of actions that positively influence the customer experience for colleagues, patients, families, physicians or anyone who comes to NorthShore for service. The Service Values Awards can be given by any employee, patient or visitor of NorthShore.
Service Values fall into three categories:
- Exceptional Customer Service: Focus on Empathy, Communication and Compassion
- Supportive Workplace Interactions: Focus on Teamwork and Positive Outlook
- Professional Work Ethic: Focus on Integrity, Initiative and Results
As a patient going through a lengthy radiation therapy plan, every morning when I check in at the radiation oncology office Maria always has a friendly greeting. She asks me how I am doing and always says “see you tomorrow” when I leave. These small gestures help to get my day going as I arrive for my treatment. I just wanted to show my appreciation by taking a moment to recognize her. ~NorthShore Patient
