Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
Program hours: Monday-Friday 8:30am-2:30pm
The Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is a group-focused, evidence-based program which provides safety and structure for your adolescent during a time of crisis. Average length of stay in PHP is 7-10 days.
PHP focuses on teaching your adolescent about his or her specific triggers, emotional reactions, coping skills, life skills, communication strategies, and stress management skills. The goals for your adolescent in the program are to generate perspective about the presenting crisis, develop a better understanding of cognitive and emotional reactions to triggers, and leave the program with realistic coping skills to specifically address triggers.
Family involvement and school collaboration are important to the treatment process. Through weekly family sessions, our therapists educate family members of treatment goals and assist them in engaging the adolescent in a supportive manner at home. Families will also participate in a weekly family activity group which meets every Thursday from 12:00pm-2:30pm.
Our licensed educational specialists collaborate with your adolescent’s home school to support them in obtaining homework, addressing school issues, organization, and facilitating the transition back to school through a formal school re-entry meeting.
Transitional IOP (TIOP)
Program hours: Mondays and Fridays 11:30am-2:30pm, Wednesdays 9:00am-12:00pm
Tuesdays and Thursdays are full days at school
TIOP is not a direct admit program, meaning adolescents admit only as a step-down transition from PHP following the completion of the formal school re-entry meeting.
TIOP focuses on applying the skill set learned in PHP while actively transitioning back to school. The goals of TIOP are to reintegrate to school after an acute crisis in a balanced and structured manner while still having the support of the program. Average length of stay in TIOP is 2-4 weeks.
Afterschool IOP (AIOP)
Program hours: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays 3:30pm-6:30pm
AIOP is a group-focused, evidence-based program that has similar features as PHP. The primary difference is that the adolescents in AIOP are attending school on a daily basis; however, they tend to struggle emotionally to get through the day due to their symptoms and are in need of the support and structure that programming offers. The goals of AIOP are to educate adolescents on positive coping strategies to manage their mental health symptoms as well as provide support to them and their families. Average length of stay is AIOP is 4-6 weeks.
Families will participate in Family Night, which meets every Wednesday from 5:15pm-6:15pm.
