How do I apply for a job? 

Q: How do I apply for a job at NorthShore University HealthSystem?
A: You may begin the application process by visiting Search & Apply. You will be able to search for positions using various criteria.  To be considered for employment you must complete and submit an online application.

Q: How do I apply for a job if I don’t own a computer?
A: You are encouraged to visit your local public library, where computers with internet service are available to the public. You may also visit one of our NorthShore Human Resources offices, where we have computer kiosks available for applicants to use Monday through Friday during business hours between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Q: Can I apply for a job if I don’t have an email?
A: You can create a free email account by clicking on either the Yahoo or GMail link on the Register Now page.

Q: Can I apply for multiple jobs?
A: You may apply for multiple positions, as long as you meet the basic qualifications.

Q: How do I submit my resume?
A: You may copy and paste your resume directly in the online application before it is submitted.

Q: How do I submit my cover letter? 
A: You may upload your cover letter to your personal profile under the My Career Tools section in the online application.

Q: Can I send NorthShore my paper resume?
A: All applicants must use the online process to submit an application and resume.

Q: Do I have to create a profile to apply for a job?
A: In order to complete and submit an online application, you’ll need to create a personal profile.  You may begin the application process by visiting our Search & Apply page.

How do I view open positions?

Q: Do you offer internships and summer employment?

What is the application review process?

Q: I recently submitted an application. What is the next step?
A: When you apply for a position, your application instantly becomes available for the recruiters to review. Recruiters review candidates to identify those whose experiences and qualifications most closely match the position specifications. We appreciate your patience as we carefully review each candidate's background and credentials against the experience and qualifications sought for the opportunity. If you are identified as a candidate you will be contacted by a recruiter, who will outline the next steps of the process.

Q: How long does NorthShore keep my application on file?
A: Your application will remain active for as long as the position you have applied for is open.

Q: I was referred for a specific position and was not hired. Will you consider my resume for other opportunities?
A: We will consider your application for any positions for which you directly apply. In addition, if there are any other positions for which we feel you may be qualified for, we may contact you directly to discuss the opportunity.

How do I update an online application?

Q: How do I make changes to my application after it has been submitted?
A: When you use the online application for the first time to submit a resume you will create a username and password. Go to Search & Apply, log in and make the updates. You will then need to resubmit your application.

What do I do if I’m experiencing technical difficulties?

Q: What should I do if my username and/or password is not working?
A: If you do not remember your password, click on the login help link from the Careers page and enter your e-mail address. Your password will be reset and you will be sent a new password.
