The Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at NorthShore provides consultative services, diagnosis and management of diseases of the endocrine system in adults.
Our endocrinologists see patients with thyroid disorders, such as overactive thyroid, under active thyroid, thyroid nodules and thyroid cancer. We also treat patients with endocrine-related disorders including osteoporosis, Addison’s disease, Cushing’s syndrome, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) in women and testosterone deficiency in males. Services for children are available through NorthShore’s Division of Pediatric Endocrinology.
We offer a multidisciplinary approach to diabetes treatment. We treat patients with type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, gestational diabetes and those requiring insulin pumps. Our staff consists of physicians, nurses, dietitians and certified diabetes educators who work together to provide a team approach to diabetes management.
We recognize that each individual is unique, and we take this into account when evaluating and constructing an individualized plan for your care. We work closely with your primary care physician to ensure you receive optimal care. Our team is continually exploring innovative research and we are participating in various clinical trials through our Center for Personalized Medicine to examine the genetics behind diabetes to better guide diagnosis and treatment.
Your primary care physician can refer you to an endocrinologist. If you don’t have a primary care physician, please visit find a doctor or call our physician referral service at 847.570.5020.
