The North Shore Computer Society (NSCS) holds workshops, classes, clinics and meetings
on a regular basis. These events are held at several main locations on the North Shore: the Auditorium of the Higgins Middle School in Peabody, at
Saint John's School in Peabody, the McCarthy Auditorium at the Peabody Municipal Light Plant
and at the Peabody Community Life Center, located at 79 Central Street in Peabody.

These events are held in the Auditorium of the Higgins
Middle School, 99 Perkins Street (1 King Street Extension), Peabody, MA.
From Route 128:
Take the Lowell Street Exit (26) towards Peabody center (a left if you are going south on 128, a right if you are going north). Follow Lowell Street for about a mile through two sets of traffic lights. Turn right on Perkins Street. Perkins Street begins directly opposite the Red Cross building on the left side of Lowell Street.
Follow Perkins Street for about a half of a mile. The driveway for the Higgins School is located to the right of the Peabody Police Station. At the top of the driveway, the parking lot is on the left and the school is on the right. The meetings are in the auditorium on your left as you walk toward the buildings from the parking lot.
From Salem and other points east:
Follow Boston Street in Salem which turns into Main Street in Peabody to Peabody Center. Continue straight onto Lowell Street towards 128 for a quarter of a mile. Turn left on Perkins Street. Perkins Street begins directly opposite the Red Cross building on the right side of Lowell Street.
Follow Perkins Street for about a half of a mile. The driveway for the Higgins School is located on the right side of the road just before the Peabody Police Station. From Lynn:
Follow Broadway in Lynn towards Peabody where it turns into Lynn Street. Continue on Lynn Street until it becomes Washington Street at the intersection with Lynnfield Street. Follow Washington Street for a quarter of a mile. Turn left onto Allens Lane right next to the Eastman Gelatine factory. Follow Allens Lane about another quarter mile to the driveway for the Higgins School which is on the left side of the road and just beyond the Peabody Police Station.
At the top of the driveway, the parking lot is on the left and the school is on the right. The meetings are in the auditorium on your left as you walk toward the buildings from the parking lot.

The Higgins School may also be located using one of the Web mapping services such as Mapquest by entering the address of 99 Perkins Street in Peabody, MA. This is also a good way to get driving directions from your home or business. Please note that the official address of the school is 1 King Street Extension, though using that address will lead you to the wrong side of the school.

Computer Clinics and Director's Meetings are held in the McCarthy Auditorium at the Peabody Municipal Light Plant, 201 Warren Street Extension, Peabody, MA.
From Route 128
Follow Route 128 to Exit 26 (Lowell Street). Go East on Lowell Street towards Peabody
Center to the second set of traffic lights. Take a left onto Endicott Street and take
the first left (at the blinking overhead light) onto Warren Street Extension. Go
through the gates and bear hard right up the hill to the Peabody Municipal Light Plant.
The entrance to the McCarthy Auditorium is on the east side of the building, just to the
right of the main entrance.
From Peabody Square
Find your way to Peabody Square. Follow Lowell Street west (past City Hall) towards
Route 128. Take a right onto Endicott Street at the first set of traffic lights. Take

Saint John's School
Most classes and workshops are held at the Society's Resource Center, located in Saint John's (2nd floor),
off of School Street (near City Hall), Peabody, MA.
From Route 128
Follow Route 128 to Exit 26 (Lowell Street). Go east on Lowell Street towards Peabody
Center through two sets of traffic lights. Watch for the White Hen Pantry and Bunghole
Liquor store on the left. Take the next right onto School Street. Go past St.
John's School on your left and then turn left into the second driveway behind the school and
park anywhere.
The Resource Center is located on the second floor of the school, but don't try to enter
the building from the lower level. Enter the building through the door to the school library, behind the school (at
the corner of the lot where you've parked) and follow the signs to the classrooms.
From Peabody Square
Find your way to Peabody Square. Follow Lowell Street west towards
Route 128. Go past City Hall (on your left just outside the square) and take the
second left onto School Street (the first left is a one way going the wrong way). Go past St.
John's School on your left and then turn left into the second driveway behind the school and
park anywhere.
The Resource Center is located on the second floor of the school, but don't try to enter
the building from the lower level - Wednesday night is Bingo night and you might never get
out alive! Enter the building through the door to the school library behind the school (at
the corner of the lot where you've parked) and follow the signs to the classrooms.
Our Lady of the Assumption School
Some classes (Macintosh) are held in the computer lab at the Our Lady of the Assumption
School, on Salem Street in Lynnfield. The computer lab is located in a building directly behind
the school at the left rear of the parking lot.
From Route 1 North
Take the 129 East / Lynnfield Lynn exit and make the second left onto Salem
Street. The school is about a hundred yards ahead on the right behind the church.
From Route 1 South
Take the 129 East / Lynnfield Lynn exit and bear right at the lights onto Salem
Street. The school is about a hundred yards ahead on the right behind the church.
From Route 128 North
Take Exit 44A to Route 1 South and bear right at the lights onto Salem Street.
The school is about a hundred yards ahead on the right behind the church.
From Route 128 South
Take the Route 1 South exit. From Route 1, take the 129 East / Lynnfield Lynn exit
and bear right at the lights onto Salem Street. The school is about a hundred yards
ahead on the right behind the church.
Directions to Special Classes & Committee Meetings
Torrigian Community Life Center - Peabody
Some of our classes and Committee Meetings may be held at the Torrigian Community Life Center (also known as the Peabody Senior Center) at 79 Central Street in Peabody. Unless otherwise posted onsite, any committee meetings
would be held in Classroom A, starting at 7:00PM sharp. Due to janitorial rules, all meetings must end by 8:45PM although most will generally be much shorter.

From Route 128
From Route 128, take the Route 114 exit (25) towards Peabody Center. About a half
mile from 128, bear slightly right onto Central Street where Route 114 turns left
onto Margin Street. Just another quarter of a mile further along Central Street,
the entrance to the Community Life Center is a driveway on the left side of
Central Street to the left of an old school building (now elderly housing).
The Community Life Center itself is in a building set back from the road. Follow the
driveway left around the building to the parking lot in the back of the building
where there should be one of two doors open for access. Look for Classroom A.
Whenever possible, signs will be placed in the parking lot to help point the way.
From Salem
From Salem, follow Route 114 onto Margin Street and into Wilson Square in
Peabody. Turn left away from Andover Street onto Central Street. Just another
quarter of a mile further along Central Street,
the entrance to the Community Life Center is a driveway on the left side of
Central Street to the left of an old school building (now elderly housing).
The Community Life Center itself is in a building set back from the road. Follow the
driveway left around the building to the parking lot in the back of the building
where there should be one of two doors open for access. Look for Classroom A.
Whenever possible, signs will be placed in the parking lot to help point the way.
Alternate Route From Salem
Alternately, from Salem, follow Boston Street until it becomes Main Street in
Peabody. At the square, bear right onto Central Street and follow it about a
third of a mile. The driveway entrance to the Community Life Center is on the
right side of the street just beyond an old school building (now elderly
housing).
The Community Life Center itself is in a building set back from the
road. Follow the driveway left around the building to the parking lot in back of
the building left where there should be one of two doors open for access. Look for Classroom A.
Whenever possible, signs will be placed in the parking lot to help point the way.
From South Peabody or Lynn
From South Peabody or Lynn, approach Peabody Square on Foster Street. Go straight
through the square onto Central Street and follow it about a
third of a mile. The driveway entrance to the Community Life Center is on the
right side of the street just beyond an old school building (now elderly
housing).
The Community Life Center itself is in a building set back from the
road. Follow the driveway left around the building to the parking lot in back of
the building left where there should be one of two doors open for access. Look for Classroom A.
Whenever possible, signs will be placed in the parking lot to help point the way.
