Transplant Evaluation Program

Our Program

The Transplant Evaluation Program at NorthShore University HealthSystem (NorthShore) offers patients access to the physicians, surgeons, and state-of-the-art transplant facilities of University of Chicago (Medical Center) while providing ancillary testing for blood work, imaging and cardiology closer to home in Evanston.

Patients are seen by Medical Center physicians working side-by-side with NorthShore clinical staff at NorthShore’s Evanston Specialty Suites, adjacent to Evanston Hospital. Patients meet first with a transplant specialist who develops an individualized comprehensive treatment plan for each patient.

The ancillary transplant services include those done for:

The Medical Center provides the most comprehensive transplant program in the state, providing heart, lung, liver, kidney, pancreas, pancreatic islets transplants and one of the nation's largest multi-organ transplant programs. The Medical Center’s history and research strengths combines with NorthShore’s reputation as one of America’s leading teaching hospital systems, leading the way in patient care and medical research.

NorthShore offers a free educational session that helps you explore kidney transplant as an alternative to dialysis.
