Cancer surgery for benign and malignant tumors may require minimally invasive diagnostic biopsies, followed by precise tumor removal. At NorthShore, our cancer surgeons possess extensive experience in treating a wide range of both benign and malignant tumors with excellent outcomes. Through collaboration with integral members of the Kellogg Cancer Center’s multidisciplinary oncology team and other specialists across our system, we meet the highest standards of cancer care and participate in leading initiatives such as the American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program.  Since 1981, NorthShore University HealthSystem’s Academic Comprehensive Cancer Program has been accredited by the Commission on Cancer.  Our fellowship-trained surgeons play a key role in providing comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic care based on the patient’s individualized treatment needs.
