The NorthShore University HealthSystem Integrative Medicine Program and Department of Family Medicine are recruiting for a "Combined Integrative Family Medicine Fellowship and Primary Care Practice Opportunity", commencing Fall 2016. The selected candidate will be a board-certified/board-eligible Family Medicine physician or graduating resident with a deep interest and clinical or research experience in Integrative Medicine. The preferred candidate must have a strong interest in establishing a primary care practice in the NorthShore Medical Group, located in the northern suburbs of Chicago, IL. The selected candidate would start immediately as a near-full time attending in a NorthShore primary care practice while concurrently participating in the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine (AzCIM) online fellowship for two years. During the fellowship, there will be protected time for online study, project completion, mentor feedback, and one half-day of Integrative Medicine consultation clinic, in addition to primary care clinic and teaching duties. Following completion of the online fellowship, the candidate would continue working as a full-time employed NorthShore Integrative Primary Care physician in the same practice location.
This two-year clinical fellowship includes free tuition and a majority of travel expense coverage for the AzCIM online and practicum experience. Other benefits include local mentorship from experienced AzCIM fellowship graduates at NorthShore; a robust primary care and consultative clinic practice; teaching opportunities for medical students and residents from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine; clinical attending salary and benefits commensurate with actual clinical hours worked (estimated at 26-30 clinical hours per week); and a collegial, supportive work environment. Following completion of the AzCIM fellowship, required projects, and passing the ABPS Integrative Medicine Board Exam within 1 year of fellowship graduation, the graduate would continue to build his or her Integrative Primary Care practice, with mentorship from Dr. Mendoza Temple as needed. Family Medicine Board Certification must be successfully passed by either the November 2016 or April 2017 administrations. Permanent Illinois physician medical licensure must be obtained prior to the start of this opportunity.NorthShore University HealthSystem Medical Group is a physician-led, multi-specialty group with over 900 physicians and growing.
