NorthShore University HealthSystem (NorthShore), the principal teaching affiliate of The University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, is seeking an exceptional leader to serve as Division Head of Cardiology and Co-Director of the Cardiovascular Institute. We seek a physician to provide leadership in clinical care, clinical research, and education with at least five years of relevant experience. Significant protected time will be provided to develop innovative clinical care models, outreach, quality improvement projects and to advance collaborative cardiovascular clinical research across the organization.
NorthShore University HealthSystem Medical Group Cardiology covers all aspects of clinical cardiology in 10 clinic locations throughout the north suburbs of Chicago. The Cardiovascular Institute is a flagship program encompassing cardiology, cardiac surgery, vascular surgery and vascular medicine. Specialized expertise is present at NorthShore in interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, heart failure, cardiac imaging and the surgical and minimally-invasive approaches to cardiac valvular disease. The cardiothoracic surgery program provides a full-spectrum of innovative procedures utilizing the most up-to-date equipment and technologies including destination LVAD.
NorthShore is a comprehensive, fully integrated, healthcare delivery system with more than 2,000 affiliated physicians, including the NorthShore Medical Group. Some 250 residents, fellows and medical students are at NorthShore facilities as part of the University of Chicago training program. There is an autonomous onsite cardiology fellowship sponsored by the University of Chicago. Research within the Department of Medicine has recently included over 350 separate research trials and over $20 million in departmental research expenditures. Qualified candidates will be proposed for an academic appointment at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine.
