NorthShore and Chicago Bears Team Up for Exciting Three-Year Healthcare Partnership

07/21/09 – NorthShore University HealthSystem (NorthShore) has signed a three-year commitment with the Chicago Bears to be the team’s first-ever official healthcare partner. The announcement comes after the National Football League (NFL) approved for the first time in the league’s history that all NFL Clubs can display sponsorship trademarks logos on their practice jerseys. NorthShore’s logo will appear on the front of all Bears practice jerseys. The partnership is in effect for the entire pre, regular and post 2009, 2010 and 2011 football seasons.

“We are thrilled with our new NorthShore University HealthSystem partnership,” said Chris Hibbs, Senior Director of Sales and Marketing. “Our goal is to align our team with organizations that share our values and drive for excellence. NorthShore’s devotion to quality care and focus on a streamlined brand message makes them an ideal business partner for the Bears. Further, we are particularly excited about NorthShore’s position as the Bears first-ever practice jersey sponsor. NorthShore’s high standards make the health system a perfect fit for this prominent Bears asset.”

“This is an incredible opportunity to showcase NorthShore’s name and commitment to quality healthcare with the prominent and well respected Chicago Bears organization and its fans,” said Jeffrey H. Hillebrand, Chief Operating Officer at NorthShore. "Adding NorthShore as a partner speaks volumes about the trust the Bears have in the quality healthcare we and our doctors provide".

“This is an exciting time and perfect opportunity for both respected institutions to come together,” said Martin Lazarus, M.D., NorthShore radiologist and long-time team physician. Lazarus has reviewed radiology scans of Bears players for the past eight years at both NorthShore’s Evanston Hospital and Vernon Hills Specialty Care Center.

The partnership will include various points of NorthShore advertising exposure from local and national media coverage to the team’s website. The NorthShore logo will appear on’s highly viewed depth chart and roster website pages, official game day magazine, LED ribbon panel signage inside Soldier Field, pre-video roll advertising on Bears website videos, “Bears Direct” e-mail newsletter and the Bears 2010 calendar. NorthShore will serve as headline sponsor of the Bears Insider Radio program. In addition, NorthShore and the Bears will collaborate on “Real Bears Fans Wear Pink,” a community relations initiative involving a t-shirt sale to raise money for breast cancer awareness.
