11/8/2010- NorthShore University HealthSystem (NorthShore) is pleased to welcome Medical Imaging at Northbrook Court (MINBC) and their patients into its system of care. This partnership strengthens NorthShore's capability to provide leading-edge imaging services in the city of Chicago and the Northern Suburbs, including Lake County.
“MINBC is an excellent addition to NorthShore. The facilities in Northbrook and in the heart of Chicago provide state-of-the-art medical imaging with a remarkable combination of outstanding service and clinical expertise,” said Robert Edelman, MD, Chairman, NorthShore Department of Radiology. “We are also delighted that Richard Mintzer, MD, a nationally renowned mammographer and chest radiologist, joins NorthShore’s member group of more than 50 subspecialty academic radiologists, further enhancing our ability to provide medical imaging and interventional services at the highest level.”
MINBC’s two locations, 1182 Northbrook Court in Northbrook and 680 N. Lake Shore Drive in Chicago, will become NorthShore Imaging Centers. The integration will largely be transparent and seamless to patients. Office locations, staff, phone numbers and office hours will remain unchanged.
“We are thrilled to join NorthShore because it allows our practice to expand the services we provide our patients, while maintaining the level of care, compassion, expertise and convenience that has earned patient loyalty and physician referrals over the last eight years,“ said Richard A. Mintzer, MD, FACR, FCCP and Medical Director, MINBC. “Our integration with NorthShore’s highly-regarded health system and team of physicians affords us the ability to provide care continuity and first class timely service for many years to come.”
The Radiology Department of NorthShore is a leader in technological advancements and patient care. Many of NorthShore radiologists are involved in clinical research that provides unique access to the latest technology and diagnostic methods. In fact, the NorthShore Radiology Department recently won Health Imaging & IT magazine’s “2010 Top 25 Connected Healthcare Facilities” award. NorthShore was the only system in Illinois honored. The award recognizes hospitals, health systems, imaging centers and physician practices that seamlessly integrate imaging and IT systems. The technology provides physicians with immediate, anywhere access to patient data and demonstrate return on investment and high patient and staff satisfaction.
In addition, MINBC patients will enjoy the benefit of NorthShore’s electronic medical records system that keeps critical health information readily accessible, anywhere in the NorthShore system, should the patient need to see another physician or make a trip to the emergency room.
Patients may also take advantage of NorthShore’s secure website, NorthShoreConnect.org, allowing patients to manage their health from a personal computer.
