Financial Protection

NorthShore offers three financial protection benefits, both on a voluntary and an employer-paid basis, depending on the Medical Plan option employees are enrolled.

Critical Illness Insurance

Pays a one-time lump sum payment upon diagnosis of a covered critical illness or condition. This lump sum payment can be used at your discretion for medical costs or other expenses.

Accident Insurance

Provides a cash benefit if you experience a covered event. Payment can be used at your discretion for medical costs or other expenses.

Hospital Indemnity Insurance

Pays a cash benefit if you are admitted to the hospital, including hospitalization due to birth. The cash benefit can be used at your discretion for medical costs or other expenses. If you enroll in the Consumer Choice Plan, NorthShore will pay for Hospital Indemnity insurance.
