Treatment Philosophy
Dr. Mehta is a firm believer in patient education and patient participation in health care decisions. He will typically lay out his thinking on a specific case, the available options, and help the patient to arrive at a treatment decision using a team approach.
Personal Interests
Dr. Mehta’s interests include IBD, the bacterial microbiome, IBS, obscure gastrointestinal bleeding, eosinophilic esophagitis, and management of complicated reflux disease. He has advanced training in small bowel capsule endoscopy. In the summer of 2009, Dr. Mehta traveled to Cambodia and Vietnam and had the opportunity to visit rural, underserved, medical clinics.
