Diagnostic Tests

The successful treatment of incontinence and pelvic floor symptoms begins with an accurate diagnosis.  We use the most advanced office-based testing to achieve this goal.

  • Urodynamics examines the function of the bladder, urethra and pelvic floor muscles.  Urodynamics provides the most complete evaluation of the lower urinary system, allowing for proper treatment decisions to be made.

  • Cystoscopy and Urethroscopy is performed through a catheter-sized telescopic camera, enabling visual inspection of the bladder and urethra. ...more

  • Cystometry (‘CMG’) involves slowly filling the bladder through a catheter, and observing the pressure within the bladder during this process.  Cystometry is often used to diagnose an overactive bladder.

  • Uroflowmetry is a test that measures the rate of urine flow out of your bladder, the total time for urination, and the pattern of your void.  Uroflowmetry is an initial test for detecting an obstructed or weakened urinary stream, and a tool used to monitor your bladder’s response to certain therapies.

  • Interstitial Cystitis Screening is now almost always performed in the office setting, with the advent of new testing procedures.
