NorthShore University HealthSystem (NorthShore) is seeking a visionary leader to serve as the Chair of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. NorthShore’s Department of Orthopaedics has 125 members, including 20 full-time faculty.
A successful candidate for this position will be highly regarded as a leader in orthopaedic surgery and considered to be a master clinician with a collaborative leadership style. We seek a physician to provide leadership in clinical care, clinical research, and education with demonstrated leadership in academics and /or in clinical multidisciplinary group management. A proven track record of clinical program growth and development is expected.
The Department has 7 divisions with a strategic focus on Joints, Sports Medicine, and Spine. The orthopaedic physicians at NorthShore use the latest technology and techniques to diagnose, treat and rehabilitate musculoskeletal diseases and injuries. Within its four hospitals, there are a total of 38 major operating rooms suites with the latest in surgical technology, such as video integration, the MAKO robot and computer navigation.
The Department is committed to fellow and resident training, along with medical student education. The Department supports 6 medical residents and 2 fellows. The Chair will be proposed for a clinical faculty appointment at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine.
The Department of Orthopaedics supports a wide range of clinical programs and research initiatives. The incumbent should be able to evaluate scientific quality and support and environment that attracts and retains quality researchers.
