The Department of Neurology is the largest academic group in the Chicago region with more than 35 neurologists employed and 9 specialty programs with inpatient and outpatient sites across the North Shore of Chicago. The Department of Neurology and the Department of Neurosurgery co-lead the NorthShore Neurological Institute, which includes an integrated team of over 70 neurologists, neurosurgeons and physiatrists.
The NorthShore Stroke Program serves 4 hospitals, including 3 Joint Commission certified Primary Stroke Centers. The NorthShore Stroke Program is supported by 4 full-time Stroke APN’s, one for each of 4 hospital pavilions, and 2 neuro-interventionalists within the Departments of Neurosurgery and Radiology.
The successful candidate for the position will be board certified/board eligible by the American Board of Neurology. This position will include clinical, administrative, research, and teaching responsibilities in the specialized area of stroke and other cerebrovascular diseases. As a faculty member of the NorthShore Stroke Program, the stroke neurologist will have the opportunity to rotate among the Stroke Services at 4 hospitals and to provide outpatient care at the NorthShore Neurological Institute and from multiple practice sites across the North Shore of Chicago.
