NorthShore Department of Family Medicine is seeking a visionary leader to serve as the Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs. You will report to the Department Chairman and work closely with the Director of our Primary Care Practice Network. Your primary responsibilities will include play an integral role in maximizing the clinical and academic potential of our Family Medicine physicians. You will coordinate the clinical affairs of department including medical management, practice growth, physician and patient loyalty, performance improvement, and assisting with integration of teaching, research and scholarship in the clinical practice setting. The successful candidate will be a motivated, proven leader with significant clinical administrative experience and will be experienced clinician opinion leader. A successful track record in problem solving and development of processes and systems is desired. A master’s degree in business or management, or evidence of continuing professional development activities related to medical management is desired. Scope of practice and effort distribution to be negotiated.
The Department has 49 employed faculty physicians, 60 affiliated physicians and 20 part-time faculty on two campuses; a residency program; two fellowships; and a practice based research network. This Vice Chair position will be located at the NorthShore campus, where department faculty practice in 11 offices as part of our 700 member medical group, staff an inpatient service and a labor and delivery service and provide services at the Lake County Health Department. The Department plans to recruit an additional 16 family physicians for our clinical practice. The successful candidate for this position will have a faculty appointment at The University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and your primary employment will be through the NorthShore.
