  • The Department of Medicine is currently seeking an exceptional individual to lead their Division of Endocrinology and Diabetes. We seek a physician to provide leadership in clinical care, clinical research, and education with at least five years of relevant experience in an academic clinical setting.  The candidate will qualify for a non-tenured academic appointment with rank to be determined based on qualifications.

    Significant protected time will be provided to develop innovative clinical care models, outreach, and quality improvement projects in diabetes/obesity.  The incumbent will participate and oversee clinical care of patients and the education of medical students and residents. Some 250 residents, fellow and medical students are at NorthShore facilities as part of their University of Chicago training program.  Additionally, the Division Chief will play a key role in the expansion of the Division (currently at 8.0 FTE) and will promote intra and interdepartmental clinical and research collaborations. Candidates should be certified in medicine and endocrinology by the ABIM.

    The Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at NorthShore University HealthSystem provides consultative services, diagnosis and management of diseases of the endocrine system in adults.  We offer a multidisciplinary approach to diabetes treatment.  We treat patients with type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, gestational diabetes and those requiring insulin pumps.  Our staff consists of physicians, nurses, dietitians and certified diabetes educators who work together to provide a team approach to diabetes management.
