The Department of Medicine at NorthShore University HealthSystem (NorthShore), the principal teaching affiliate of The University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, is seeking an exceptional leader to serve as Division Head of Cardiology and Co-Director of the Cardiovascular Institute.
We seek a physician to provide leadership in clinical care, clinical research, and education with at least five years of relevant experience. Significant protected time will be provided to develop innovative clinical care models, outreach and quality improvement projects. The incumbent will participate in and oversee the clinical care of patients and the education of medical students, residents and fellows. The incumbent will play a key role in the expansion of cardiovascular services through the Cardiovascular Institute and will promote intra and interdepartmental clinical and research collaborations. In addition, as the Division Head of Cardiology the incumbent will oversee the activities of all cardiologists, employed and affiliated, on the professional staff of NorthShore. Candidates should be certified in medicine and cardiovascular disease by the ABIM. The candidate will qualify for a non-tenured academic appointment with rank to be determined based on qualifications.
NorthShore University HealthSystem Medical Group Cardiology consists of 33 board-certified cardiologists covering all aspects of clinical cardiology in 10 clinic locations throughout the north suburbs of Chicago. Specialized expertise is present at NorthShore in interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, and the surgical and minimally-invasive approaches to cardiac valvular disease. The cardiothoracic surgery program provides a full-spectrum of innovative procedures utilizing the most up-to-date equipment and technologies.
