Child Life Internship Program
The Child Life Program at NorthShore Evanston Hospital offers internship opportunities for undergraduate and graduate level students aspiring to become a Child Life Specialist. Internships are available to students who have had 100 hours of volunteer experience in a health care setting. Students are responsible for planning procedural support and preparation in an outpatient and inpatient setting, implementing activities in our activity/playroom as well as bedside interactions, assisting with in-service presentations to new nursing/medical staff and presenting our Pediatric Preparation Program.
Internship Requirements
- Currently enrolled in, or have completed senior year of a bachelors degree in Child Life, Child Development, Psychology, Expressive Therapies, Education, and Human Services; or be currently enrolled in a masters program.
- Have completed at least ten courses in the areas of study listed above.
- Available 40 hours a week for 15 weeks
