Ruth Ross, PhD
With over 20 years of applied leadership experience in a wide range of program development and clinical research activities, including peer-reviewed publications and invited presentations at national meetings, Dr. Ruth Ross has served as the Director of the NorthShore PBRN since its inception in 2009.
A licensed social worker in the State of Illinois, she holds a PhD in mental health and clinical ethics and an M.A. in clinical social work from the School of Social Service Administration at the University of Chicago. In addition, Dr. Ross has completed two post-doctorate programs, one at the Joint Commission in healthcare organizational ethics and one at the College of Medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago in research ethics.
Dr. Ross also serves as Senior Research Compliance Advisor at the Health Ethics Trust, Alexandria, Virginia, a division of the Council of Ethical Organizations. She is a board member of Chicago-based Heartland Alliance’s Health Outreach Board and serves as the Chair of its Health Outcomes Committee. She is also a member of the Board of Governors of the Chicago Institute of Medicine.
