The North Shore Computer Society (NSCS) holds its monthly programs on
the second Thursday of every month from September to June. Past programs have
featured Adobe demonstrating the latest releases of Photoshop, Acrobat, and Pagemaker,
Microsoft demonstrating the Windows operating system, an on-line tour of the Internet
and Apple demonstrating some of the Mac's leading edge technologies.
Programs are usually held in the Auditorium of the Higgins
Middle School, 99 Perkins Street (1 King Street Extension), Peabody, MA, unless otherwise posted
(directions).
Monthly programs are free to all and run from 7:00PM to 9:30PM. Light refreshments
(drinks and snacks) are available. Door prizes offered are available to members only.
May 8, 2008 - Thursday, 7:00PM
Disaster Recovery and Prevention
Please join us this month, for a presentation on Disaster Recovery
and Prevention for the small business and home computer user.
Our presenter,
Robert Thaler of Acronis, will be discussing what kinds of actions you should
be taking to protect your data and system from disasters, big and small. Mr.
Thaler will be demonstrating the Acronis True Image product line and will
be donating a copy of their Acronis True Image Home product for a lucky
member.
We'll also hold our usual Tech Talk Time this month - your chance to share your technical questions and answers - and we will have some books and other great stuff to give away. But remember, even though our meetings are always free, to be eligible to win a prize you must be a member of the North Shore Computer Society.
The program is being held in the auditorium of the Higgins Middle School in Peabody, starting at 7 PM and lasting until about 9:30 PM. The program is always free of charge and open to the general public, but remember any "door prizes" offered are available to members only.
Reminder: In case of inclement weather, please remember to check this website to determine whether we have been forced
to cancel the meeting. We usually make the call by about noon on the day of
an event, so check in the afternoon for the latest information.
