Carol Flanagan, RN, MSN, OCN has over 30 years of specialty experience in oncology nursing. She has worked in a variety of oncology settings and has dedicated herself to advocating for cancer survivors. Carol has facilitated a multitude of cancer support groups, including those for Breast Cancer, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and Prostate Us Too! International.She is a member of the Oncology Nursing Society and is the recipient of the ONS Leadership Development Institute Fellowship and Scholarship Award. She is committed to both professional and community education, as an ONS Chemo/Biotherapy Course Trainer and a member of the American Cancer Society’s Speakers Bureau. Carol serves on the American Cancer Society’s Chicago Community Regional Leadership Board, on its Executive Committee and is Chair of its Health Initiatives Committee.
Washington Elementary football raises awareness about breast cancer
With the entire football team behind them, four players read a statement and each player presented their team photo to Carol Flanagan, RN, MSN, OCN and Clinical Coordinator for the LIFE Cancer Survivorship Program and NorthShore University HealthSystem. The team photos were 30 unique stills where each player posed with the “I Play For You” ribbon, honoring local patients suffering from the disease.
